Covid -19 Changes

Guide for parents.

Please take the time to read the following and share with anyone who is collecting and dropping off your children to the club.

This is our changed procedures due to Covid-19 with regard to dropping off, collecting and during sessions.

  • When arriving, please que (socially distanced) in the corridor to the left of the hall as you look at it from the outside.
  • Please ensure that your children are ready to train on entry (hair tied up), correct clothing. British Gymnastics have specified that no masks are to be worn in the gym, we will update you should this rule change.
  • We are limiting personal items in the gym, so please only allow easy to slip on shoes a drink and hand sanitizer.
  • The sessions will be limited in numbers to allow for social distancing in the hall. However though we will do our best to keep the children distanced this may not always happen as these are children, you should only allow your child to return if you are comfortable with this. We will be unable to physically spot skills during sessions so training will be adjusted accordingly. We will be cleaning and wiping down communal areas and equipment where and when possible and placing markers to encourage social distancing.
  • Parents, please drop off your children and wait for them outside of the building. If your child is under 7 or has additional needs and you need to be inside, you can wait in the corridor whilst adhering to the 2m rule from anyone else waiting
  • We will have hand sanitizer at the club for entry and exit, for gymnasts who do not have their own.
  • Exiting the sessions will be via the fire door to the right (as you look from outside), please come to the bottom of the steps tell the coach your childs name, the coach will then allow your child to come out. Please be prompt picking your child up as delays here will affect our cleaning and start time of the next session.
  • If Emergency care of a child is required, the child may be attended to by a qualified first aider, who should wear the appropriate PPE – in these circumstances, social distancing measures may be broken whilst the child is attended to.
  • Parents and children should complete a self-check before each session. Self-checks are important to prevent transmission among people who are unaware that they are carriers of the virus. Self-checks include:
  • Had / Has a high temperature (above 37.8°C)
  • Has developed a new or continuous cough
  • Has shortness of breath or a sore throat
